Folk, blues, movies, high quality wines and Tisza blooming: the 7th Tiszavirág Fesztivál (Mayfly Festival) is taking place between 12th and 16th June in Szolnok.
Tim Lothar Danish blues musician is giving a concert at 11:50 on 12th June on Tisza Stage.
The Tiszavirág Festival (Mayfly Festival, http://www.tiszaviragfesztival.hu/) is taking place for the seventh time in Szolnok this year. This free, five-day- long, outdoor festival –organized at the time of the swarming of the long tailed mayfly (tiszavirág in Hungarian), which is called Tisza blooming- has become an outstanding touristic and cultural event of the region, which attracts a lot of visitors from the whole country, especially because of its high standard live music performances by national and international musicians on different stages. This year the Danish blues guitarist Tim Lothar (http://flavors.me/timlothar) has been invited to the festival. DKI is supporting the program with financing the musician’s travel costs.
Tim Lothar, an award winner (Danish Blues artist of the Year 2008, Best Danish Blues Album 2009) guitarist and song writer, started his musical career as a drummer. After 25 years behind his drum kit, Tim Lothar began cultivating singing and playing acoustic guitar to explore classic American Delta Blues.
With an indisputable talent and great musical insight Tim began a whole new career as a solo performer, and has issued 3 CDs that has received raving and enthusiastic reviews at home and abroad.
He toured 14 countries in the last 7 years. What makes Tim stand out from other performers is his ability to take this traditional music and make it seem brand new, along with gifted storytelling and an astonishing voice and guitar playing.
He will play an hour’s concert beginning at 22:50 on 12th June.
