The Danish Cultural Institute is an independent institution, which receives a yearly government grant through the Danish Ministry of Culture. The Danish Cultural Institute promotes cultural exchanges and informs about Denmark and supports projects that aim at long-term cooperation between foreign and Danish cultural institutions, artists and other professionals. The activities are coordinated through our head office in Copenhagen and branch offices in Benelux, Brazil, China, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and the United Kingdom - and our global network.
The activities of the Danish Cultural Institute are:
*Concerts with Danish soloists and ensembles abroad.
*Exhibitions with Danish artists and informative exhibitions with subjects such as Danish architecture, education and social conditions
*Theatre, film and dance.
*Conferences and seminars about culture or social studies – both in Denmark and abroad.
*Study tours to and from Denmark within subjects such as: health and social matters, educational and cultural politics. The study tours are mainly aimed towards professional organizations, governmental, regional and local authorities and associations.
*Job-Swop is an international exchange and in-service program for employees within the areas of education, culture and health, where the participants get an idea of each other's professional and cultural everyday life.
*Courses in Danish – mostly abroad.
The key words of all these arrangements are exchange, dialogue and mutual inspiration. We do our outmost to organize courses and events that will lead to long lasting connections and encourage networks.
Through our extensive network the Danish Cultural Institute arranges study tours for groups with special professional interests.
Job-swop is an exchange programme for Danish and foreign professionals for a certain period of time involving job-shadowing in each other's countries.
